Terms & Conditions
General transport service information for business and private customers. Booking-specific arrangements are agreed individually.
1. About These Terms
These Terms & Conditions provide general information about transport services offered by ANCON COURIER LTD to business customers and private individuals. Specific arrangements for each booking, including the service, price, payment terms and additional conditions, will be agreed individually before confirmation. Any individually agreed terms apply subject to applicable law and statutory rights.
2. Quotations and Bookings
Quotations depend on the information provided by the customer, vehicle availability, consignment details and operational requirements. Requesting a quotation does not constitute a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed only when ANCON COURIER LTD accepts the request and the relevant arrangements have been agreed.
3. Prices and Payment
Prices and payment arrangements are agreed individually for each booking. Payment may be required in advance, in instalments or under separately agreed terms. Any applicable VAT and additional charges will be communicated before booking confirmation.
4. Collection and Delivery
Customers must provide accurate consignment information, including weight, dimensions, contents, collection and delivery locations and special handling requirements. Collection and delivery arrangements will be agreed for each booking. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, estimated times are not guaranteed. Services will be performed with reasonable care and skill.
5. Special Goods
Customers must disclose goods requiring specialist handling, additional permissions, temperature control, special equipment or insurance arrangements. Restricted, dangerous or regulated goods are subject to prior agreement and applicable legal requirements. ANCON COURIER LTD may decline consignments that cannot lawfully or safely be transported.
6. Cancellations and Changes
Cancellation and amendment arrangements will be communicated and agreed as appropriate for each booking. Any applicable charges must comply with the agreed terms, reasonably incurred costs, applicable law and statutory consumer rights. Refunds and alternatives will be handled in accordance with the contract and applicable law.
7. Liability and Insurance
Responsibility for loss, damage or delay and any applicable insurance arrangements will be determined according to the booking agreement and relevant law. Customers should disclose unusually valuable consignments and special insurance requirements before booking. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.
8. International Transport
International freight movements are subject to applicable customs requirements, transport regulations and international conventions, including the CMR Convention where applicable. Responsibilities for documentation and customs procedures will be agreed before booking confirmation.
9. Consumer Rights
Where a customer acts as a consumer, their statutory rights under applicable UK consumer protection law remain unaffected. Applicable cancellation rights, exceptions and refund arrangements depend on the service and booking circumstances.
10. Complaints and Enquiries
Customers should contact ANCON COURIER LTD promptly with concerns regarding bookings or services. We will review complaints and seek to resolve them fairly in accordance with the booking agreement and applicable law.
